Volunteer Sign-up

As always, it is expected that all members over the age of 12 will volunteer to help during the High Holidays. Judy Jacobson and Elaine Lebau will be organizing this aspect of the High Holidays preparation. The sign-up form will be sent via email in early August. A copy will also be available on the website. Please do not ignore filling out the form. You can either mail it back to Elaine or send it as an attachment to Judy’s email, judith5jacobson@aol.com.  It is very important that you tell us your specific needs and requests, so we can make an appropriate assignment for you. It is a tough job getting all the tasks covered, so please help out with your timely response. We will contact members whose forms dont arrive by late August.

Current High Holiday Information

Information regarding High Holidays will not be mailed this year, except to our regular hard copy recipients. To get a hard copy mailed to you, contact Judy by phone (410-415-5199) or email judith5jacobson@aol.com.  Updated information and flyers will be placed on the table at the shul for you to pick up on Shabbats, including information for ticket purchase for non-members. Remember, all up-to-date High Holiday related information can be found on the website.

Tell Non-members About Our Services

Please tell friends and colleagues who are looking for High Holiday services about our reasonably priced, pomp-free services with child care. Nonmember ticket information is available on the website and at the shul information table.

High Holidays Etiquette

And finally, a few reminders regarding Kavod LTorah (respect for the Torah). Please:

§   dress appropriately (no exposed midriff, bare feet or shorts);

§   make sure cell phones and other electronic devices are off while in the building. If you must use a cell phone, do so outside of and away from the building; and

§   use hushed voices in the lobby. Noise is easily transmitted from there, disturbing the davening of people sitting in the back of the sanctuary.

Thanks for your cooperation in making the High Holidays go smoothly. Its a little early for this sentiment, but we wish you a LShana Tovah u Metukah and a great rest of the summer.
